Great way to start an Amsterdam vacation!

My first full day in Amsterdam started with this canal tour. It was a great way to see the city and get a little history before walking around. Being able to see the different houses, bridges, and churches and museums from the water is pretty relaxing. It was a nice, breezy day which made for it to be extremely comfortable while on the tour. The captain was always giving us information when we came to an important area and told us about the history of Amsterdam. Very nice tour!

A different view of Amsterdam

Small open boat, able to traverse several of the smaller canals and a different perspective on the Venice of the North. Humourous skipper, great boat handling on some of the canals and some wonderful views. My only criticism is that BlueBoat should add extra location information on their website. Finding "meet at 501......" was complicated - if identified by approximate location or tram stop and number, finding the meeting point which was actually an unsigned dock would have been easier.

Boat ride was excellent.

The small boats are the ideal way to navigate the canals. We passed so many of the big boats that struggled to manoeuvre even in the big canals. Small boats allow you to access under all the low bridges and go up the small most picturesque canals. Max was an excellent skipper giving us all the relevant information as we went in good clear English.
